talent.
dictionary.com defines it as a special natural ability or attitude.
talent is a funny thing. first of all- does everyone have a talent? because sometimes it seems like talented people have MANY talents, and untalented people have none at all. how the hell is this fair?! in my perfect world, everyone would have one incredible talent- something they were better at than anyone else. now i do believe that everyone is really really good at something, whether they were born with this talent or learned it by practicing. but how long does it take to spot this talent? for example, some kids figure out what they're good at right away, and get to work practicing it even more until it becomes second nature to them. other people may not figure out what they are truly talented at until middle age, or even after that. i also believe that our talents make us special, and, if possible, we should use our talents to better our lives and the lives of the people around us. clearly not everyone does this- but when most people figure out that they're good at something- they run with it! (and they should)
ok here's my point. i feel like im gonna be one of those people that doesn't discover my talent until age 70+. or maybe i'm one of those RARE cases where i have ZERO talent for anything! ( i don't think that's the case, clearly i'm pretty good at rambling. maybe i should be a writer. on second thought, good writers don't ramble. scratch that idea) basically what i'm trying to say is, everyone is good at something. right? i think so. but to be honest, i'm not really good at much. i'm mediocre at some stuff, but i have little talent for anything important. i think i should make it my goal in life to find something i'm truly good at and run with it. for the greater good, of course. and to show off.
this is the very un-talented tie dye saying“I have no particular talent. I am merely inquisitive.” (okay einstein said that. but it got me thinking. maybe i need to ask more questions....)
